About

As a Filmmaker, Justin Ferrato has made a handful of short films ranging from narrative drama to a hybrid experimental film. Those include a short film about the 'meditative sounds of a garden' and a narrative drama which screened at the NY Shorts Festival in Manhattan. His upcoming short film "Kill the Witness" is film about a musician's subjective process of making the perfect beat and will begin the festival circuit in late 2016.

As an Editor, Justin Ferrato took a 6 week editing intensive residency at The Edit Center where he was taught by notable instructors including editor Alan Oxman and Oscar winner Adam Bolt. He has worked as a Director's assistant for Sundance filmmaker Terence Nance where he edited and post-supervised a handful of film and art projects. A few upcoming films he's worked on as an editor that will hit the 2016 festival circuit include a feature film called "La Gradua" by filmmaker Adrian Manzano, a short narrative documentary about an Iraqi War Veteran titled "Carlos: day of the Leone". He has recently completed the short narrative film "Alice at the Clearing" by filmmaker Avivit Bar-Yosef.

Justin had his start in independent film working at the Independent Filmmaker Project (IFP) as a digital media coordinator where he was on the programming selection committee for IFP's flagship programs, managed publicity and outreach for Brooklyn's independent film theater reRun and produced video content.
